19 on-grid solar plants and counting, for estates of Jay Shree Tea (BK Birla Group) and Goodricke Group.
Tea estates draw heavy power in the processing season, much of it in daylight hours, and many rely on diesel generators when the grid fails. A ground-mount solar plant on estate land cuts both grid bills and diesel.
Arrays Ingenieria has become one of the most active solar builders in Assam's tea gardens. As reported in September 2026, the company has installed 19 on-grid solar plants in the state's tea estates, from Jay Shree Tea's first-ever renewable project at Towkok and Manjushree to the Goodricke estates at Orangajuli and Barpatra.
Towkok (535 kWp) and Manjushree (500 kWp) for Jay Shree Tea; the Dewan, Labac and Burtoll gardens of Jay Shree Tea's Dewan Group; Orangajuli (450 kW) and Barpatra (230 kW) for Goodricke; and Kakajan Tea Estate for Amalgamated Plantations. Most recently, the 595 kWp plant at Koomber Tea Estate was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Assam on 1 October 2026.
“Our sincere thanks to Lieutenant General Ashish Ranjan Prasad (Retd) and the team at Arrays Ingenieria for their partnership in bringing this vision to life.”
“Their precision, discipline and commitment to excellence ensured seamless implementation across all three locations.”

“Glad to see Arrays Ingenieria, an MSME spearheaded by ex-servicemen under Lt Gen AR Prasad (Retd), deliver critical renewable infrastructure with uncompromising military discipline.”

Tea processing is energy-intensive. Every estate that swaps grid and diesel power for solar cuts fossil-fuel use, contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Panchamrit" climate commitments announced at COP26: 500 GW of non-fossil capacity and half of India's energy needs from renewables by 2030, and net zero by 2070.
It also advances Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma's target of 6,000 MW of installed green-energy capacity by 2030, and his decision to let tea gardens use up to 5% of their land for solar. Sustainable innovation and clean energy can drive the next chapter of Assam's economic growth story.
