Two ground-mount, grid-connected solar plants for Jay Shree Tea & Industries, part of the BK Birla Group: 535 kWp at Towkok Tea Estate and 500 kWp at Manjushree Tea Estate, together about 1 MW, in Sonari, Assam.
Jay Shree Tea placed the purchase order with Arrays Ingenieria on 2 December 2024 for the material supply, installation and commissioning of a 1035 kWp grid-connected solar power generation system across the two estates. The project was executed under Tata Power's EPC contract, with all materials to Tata Power-approved makes.
Both estates run on grid power backed by diesel generators, so the scope included synchronising each plant with two DG sets per site, letting the estates use solar power alongside their generators.
The plants were inaugurated on 20 May 2025. It was the first renewable-energy project in Jay Shree Tea's 80-year history, and was reported by The Sentinel and announced by Jay Shree Tea on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
